Information We Collect

Local Storage (On Your Device)

Your game progress—including round selections, locked choices, and round history—is stored exclusively in your browser's local storage. This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us.

No Account Required

We do not require user accounts, registration, email addresses, or any personal information to play.

Analytics & Cookies

We use analytics services to understand how visitors interact with our site. This helps us improve the game experience.

Google Analytics 4

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to collect aggregated website statistics. GA4 is configured with region-based consent behavior: in EEA countries and the UK, analytics storage is denied by default (cookieless mode), while outside these regions standard analytics storage may be enabled. The following data is collected:

• Pages visited and time spent on pages
• General location (country and city, derived from IP address which is then discarded)
• Device type, operating system, browser, and screen resolution
• Traffic source (how you found the site)
• Language settings
• Interaction events (e.g., button clicks, game actions, navigation)

Custom events we track: We track anonymized interaction patterns such as when you make game selections, navigate between rounds, share results, or start a new game. These events help us understand which content is most engaging, but this data is not linked to any personal identifier.

Cookies used: Outside the EEA and UK, GA4 may set first-party cookies including _ga and _ga_*. In EEA countries and the UK, GA4 runs in cookieless mode by default.

Opt-out: You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or by using browser extensions that block tracking scripts.

Vercel Analytics

We use Vercel Analytics for privacy-friendly website statistics. Unlike traditional analytics, Vercel Analytics:

• Does not use cookies
• Does not track users across sites
• Uses anonymous, hash-based visitor identification that is discarded after 24 hours
• Collects only aggregated data that cannot identify individuals

Data collected includes: pages visited, referrer, country/region, device type, browser, and operating system.

Vercel Speed Insights

We use Vercel Speed Insights to monitor website performance. This service collects anonymous performance metrics including:

• Page load times and Web Vitals (LCP, FCP, CLS, etc.)
• Network speed category
• Device type, browser, and country

This data is anonymous and cannot be used to identify or track individual users.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Google Analytics: Website analytics (see above). Google Privacy Policy
• Vercel: Hosting, analytics, and performance monitoring. Vercel Privacy Policy
• Image hosting: Game images are served via third-party CDNs
• Google Fonts: Web fonts for typography

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.

Data Retention

• Local storage: Game progress remains in your browser until you clear your browser data or start a new game
• Google Analytics: Data is retained for 14 months (GA4 default setting)
• Vercel Analytics: Aggregated data only, visitor identifiers discarded after 24 hours

Your Rights & Choices

• Clear game data: Click "New" in the game header to reset your progress
• Block cookies: Use your browser settings or extensions to block analytics cookies
• Opt out of GA: Install the Google Analytics Opt-out Add-on
• Do Not Track: We respect browser Do Not Track signals where technically feasible

Children's Privacy

Innocent Choices is intended for adults only (18+). We do not knowingly collect any information from children under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

International Users

Our services are hosted in the United States via Vercel. By using our site, you consent to the transfer of any data collected to the United States. We strive to comply with applicable privacy laws including GDPR and CCPA.
